hey my friend and i are planning 2 do a month on the trail, beginning at Springer. We are both female and prefer to hike with only females. We will be using hammocks. let me know, robin

IF!!! The powers and my knees are willing I'll be on the trail starting at Springer again just because I love the hike . Hope to go all the way but I'm walking around SMNP as I've been thru a couple of times and I'll have my dog wiyh me.
I will be starting my thru on March 17th, so maybe we will meet on the trail sometime. I'm not really looking for a partner as I am slow and like to go at my own pace without having to worry about slowing down other folks or hiking faster than I want to. I do hope to meet people from WB out on the trail.

I am also planning on starting at Springer in late March for a thru hike attempt. I don't have any options at this point for partners, but would like to start out with at least one person.

Well, I'm going solo, but I would like someone to hike with for the first couple weeks, just to get going. But I'm starting mid-late February, so I'm assuming that's way too early for you. :dance
I've always wanted o use that little red dancing phantom guy!

Hey-I'm starting next year too! And I think I want to go solo-ish, but I'd love to start the first week with someone and see how it goes-maybe meet up at the end of the day or every few days or something.
(Of course, I assume I know nothing as I've never hiked it before-so who knows what will really happen)

I'm planning on leaving sometimes mid/late March 2010, and would like someone to start the hike with. I'm also leery of hitchhiking alone...
