Can anybody recommend a good three day in NC, SC, Tenn area for the first week of July? We will be 3 adults and 6 kids ages 12-17. Looking for short, 3-4 miles per day hike with watering holes, waterfalls, or other interesting things at the stopping points that will keep the kids interested. Wouldn't mind ending up at a rafting location like NOC.

It's a bit longer, but how about Wayah Bald (parking) to NOC (water!).

Cant recommend any 3-4 mile/day loops, but there is a great hike in the Smokies that could set up nicely for 6-7 miles each day.

Start at Big Creek Campground, hike up to Walnut Bottom (#37)
Next day, hike up to Tri Corner Knob Shelter
Next day, hike over to Cosby Knob
Last day, hike down to Davenport Gap / I-40 to get vehicle
There is rafting on the Pigeon River at Hartford TN, about 10 miles west of the Waterville exit. They put in at Waterville and run the river there.

The only hard(ish) day in this loop would be day 2 from Walnut Bottom to Tri Corner, but should be doable for the ages that you listed.

Teenagers should be able to handle 7-mile days, especially if they're not carrying more than 20 pounds, their boots fit, and you break up the day in creative ways.
