I was sewing a new patch on my pack today and superglued the patch b4 sewing. The mixture of superglue and the ripstop nylon on the side of the pack was so strong it first broke a sewing needle, then it broke my thickest upholstery needle. Yet it still bends and moves. Whats the deal, is this a way to make our packs bullet proof, or is the glue going to weeken quickly leaving it how it was?
It prob weighs a bit more, but you may be on to something. But eventually it could lead to fibers breaking down to chemicals in the glue. I suggest elmers since it is washable.

Bring it on the next parade of fools and we will test that bullet proof idea......
I would think the glue will break down over time.

I am only using small amounts to hold my patches in place while I sew. The strange thing is it only does this on certain pieces of ripstop not all. I wonder if the acetone is melting the ripstop in spots and turning it into hard plastin but only in small spots

just got done dunking all of my gear in super glue... ill let you know how it goes!
