We've been getting ready all week to go on our 40 mile section hike this weekend / next week. I packed all the packs, and walked into the hall tonight, and saw Phoebe "guarding" her pack.

Even after I re-arranged the packs to "stage" a picture with her in it, she hadn't moved...

Funny stuff! Off in the morning - maybe we'll see you on the trail! (look for a fat, bald guy hiking with two teenagers and a red husky!)

Steve,
What size pack does Pheobe carry? Thanks

It's a Granite Gear Ruff Rider, Medium. Dog packs are usually sized based on the weight / size of the dog....she's about 55 lbs, medium is for dogs 50 - 80 lbs....

I'm OK with the pack, her second. The buckles on top of the pack on each side (3 to a side) tend to slide during the day, so need periodic readjustment. It's been tough - gets a lot of banging on rocks, etc., and while it shows some wear, has held up.....

Steve,
My dog Kincora, is an AT rescued dog was rescued as a puppy, as best as I can tell she is part Chow and Lab. Took her for her first trott on a section of the AT this spring she had a great time and says she wants to do some more hiking up where she was rescued NOBO into Va. She said to me that she wanted her own pack but I was unsure what size to get her.
Thank you!

nice dog enjoy your hike. My old german sheperd loved her pack and anytime I failed to shut the closet door she would pull it out and drag it to the front door. I took that as ahint we should go for a hike.
