Shiny side out?

OH Boy! I am sewing another big tent. (24 feet diameter). I am using wateproofed nylon which is shiny on one side. (I assume it is the coated side). I am sewing the tent with the shiny side out but I don't know if this is correct. Does it make any difference? My first seam was 15 feet long and it was wrong. I had to rip up the whole thing. No fun!

With coated nylon, you want the coating to be on the inside.

Now that I have sewed 6 pieces the wrong way, how serious is it? I can see now that putting the coating on the inside would help protect it. Arrrggghhh

I think it will probably work ok, but the coating is much more likely to get scraped or damaged on the outside. It will leak whereever the coating is damaged.
