Looking for ride from Troutdale to trailhead at VA 600

Hi,
I'm doing a section hike starting at VA 600 (Elk Garden). I'm planning to spend the night on 6/16 at the Baptist Church Hostel in Troutdale. I'm a little nervous about leaving my jeep at the trailhead since there are reported thefts there. Is anyone near that area that would be willing to give us a lift in the early am on 6/17? Alternatively, does anyone know how far the trailhead is from that hostel?
