What is the rule of thumb for how much duct tape to carry? Considering it's many many uses how many wraps around the fuel bottle (20oz)(to keep it designated from my water) do you take? What are some of the other ways to carry duct tape? Thank you.

I carry about 1/4 to 1/2 roll, or more!

Sometimes I get home with all of it, sometimes I have about 5 inches left actually used all of it on one trip, lots of blisters on me feet.

So, anyway, I carry it always, even have about 15' on a roll in my bag at work, "just in case".

Magic stuff Duct (Duck?) tape.

For a week-long trip I carry about 5' of duct tape (it doesn't "quack":banana) and wrap it around a cut-down straw (I picked this up from The Weasel a few years ago) since I use a canister stove.

Probably 10 ft.

Mine gets wrapped around the shaft of my hiking pole. Which reminds me that I need to put some more on there...

I think the best place to put your duct tape is around your travel Jim Beam bottle. And it would be even better if the duct tape was red (3m).
