The Atlantic ocean has been an intregal part of the Appalachian mountains, as such, does anyone have any information on the $4 'beach camping"?

yep, you need reservation in advance. they regulate backcountry sites.
brickhill is my fave campsite. its 9 miles from the ranger station.

You might ask Sly or Clyde (rcli4), they've camped there.
Apparently the raccoons are ferocious-clever, so figure out how to best protect your food.
Said to be armadillos there too.

yes, the armadillos are a hoot. raccoon are know to chew thru tents and get food. i am so glad i hammock!!! great place to be.
