Where does the time go? Seems like yesterday I was waking up and finding my water bottle frozen in my tent. Now the days are hot and long the nights are short and humid.

I’m looking forward to seeing the AT with its fall colors and cool breezes, but first July and August stand it the way.

I can take bitter cold with little problem, just I’ve never been a fan of the summer heat in the South. So tonight is a short night, but starting tomorrow the days will get shorter.

So in a way this is a bit of a celebration to me.

I'm thinking VERY seriously about throwing the hammock up for a night in the yard!

It would be great if it would be Octoberish in the south for about 9 months out of the year. Man I love October in the mountains.

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today. Love the fall and winter, not so much summer. Which is odd because my house is just a few miles from the beaches of the Atlantic ocean.

"I SURVIVED THE SUMMER SOLSTICE 2009"
