Oh and no one over 60 can hike now. costs too much to rescue you. Sorry:rolleyes:

I read the article. This guy is done for this season. Perhaps another year he can finish the trail. He might even be liable for the rescue costs!

I agree he's probably done for the season but I doubt he'll have to pay rescue cost. He had his gear, spent a few days trying to recover. Not like a ill-prepared meathead with a cell phone.

I don't know is the rescue done thru AMC? no wait if that were the case he would just be carried to a hut where he would have to stay until he recovered at the daily rate and no they don't take his insurance.
