Stuck in Vernon NJ

I was wondering if anyone knows of anything fun to do in Vernon NJ. I'm in the middle of my thru-hike and have to rest a major strain in my right knee. (doctors orders) It hurts like crazy and it needs to heal. I'll be here for about a week. My trail name is Penn-J and I'm at the church hostel. Very nice place but I think I'm gonna get bored pretty quick. I guess I'll just read.
Any suggestions would be great.

Go back out to the farm stand where the trail comes out to the road so you can watch the hikers try to out run the mosquitoes. Great fun, Wa Hoo!:)

Go a little further to Unionville and see the Mayor, or ex-Mayor at the Outhouse. Great place and nice guys, even the grouchy old Bill. You might help out, but don't get in Bill's kitchen.

I would suggest a day trip to NYC by commuter bus/train, but all the walking on pavement may not be much less stressing on your knee than the AT.

Well, there is something called the space farms museum and zoo, Waterloo Village (Historical), The Sterling Hills Mining Museum, The Franklin Mineral Museum, Wild West City- they're all listed in the link above, but I don't know if they're right in Vernon. Good luck...

(Some of the are in Sussex county, but not necessarily in Vernon)

There is not much in Vernon. The town pretty much revolves around Mountain Creek, and it dosent seem like you should be mountianbiking to much :D

You could hitch into Paramus and spend an afternoon at Campmor (http://www.campmor.com/). Just for fun.
