hey guys just need directions from the trail and walking distances to mountain mommas and big creek ranger station (is that right?). im gonna be parking a car there soon. thanks...

I just finished the smokies in March & parked @ the ranger station, but don't remember the exact mileage, or road name. Call Jeff Hock @ The Hike Inn (near Fontana Dam) @ #828-479-3677, & he should be able to tell you. Enjoy your hike, the smokies are awesome!!
Brack, if you are parking your car at Big Creek and hiking north you can cut off at Chectnut Branch Trail which will take you right to the Ranger Station. Chestnut Branch Trail is about 1/2 or 3/4 mile before the Davenport Gap Shelter. If you want to go all the way to the bridge at Pidgeon river then it is 2 or 3 miles by road (the map doesn't show the name) to Mountain Moma's. Turn right where the trail comes down to the road. If you are parking at Mt. Moma's and going south then John will probably take you to the trail. Your question wasn't too clear but hope this helps.

From the trail at Davenport Gap, thats Hwy. 32, it is about 1.5 miles to either place.
If your driving you'll first pass Mountain Mamma's (a 5 minute drive from Exit 451 I-40), go another 50 yards and there's a 4-way intersection....go right takes you up to Davenport Gap, about 1.5 miles....go straight if you want the ranger station parking lot about 200 yards....go left if you want Mt. Sterling.
