I know this is short notice but if anyone wants to join me for a 40mi. section hike from Pen Mar (PA/MD line) to Harpers Ferry, WV, I'll be leaving from Pen Mar tomorrow around noon and plan on taking my time (4 days/3nights) down to Harpers Ferry. I'll be getting into Harpers Ferry sometime on Sat. Drop me a line sometime today if interested...

Anyone know if any good swimming holes exist along the AT in Maryland? Looks like its going to be pretty hot the next few days...

Only place to swim would be Greenbrier St Park about a mile off the trail around RT 70. There really is nowhere to swim and water starts trickling in some places around August.
You can get a great shower at Dahlgren campground.
