Is there anyone near asheville that would give me a ride on July 22nd? I am wanting to hike the AT through the smokies. Please let me know how much you would charge.

There two hostels that provide shuttle service. Depending on whch direction you want to hike through the park, check out either of these hostels.

Hike Inn - Fontana area
Standing Bear Farms - Davenport Gap area

Check in with Chaco...I'm not really sure if he's in here as Chaco Taco or what. He does shuttles. I can put you in touch if you PM me.

I have called the hostels and they want 125 for the shuttle. That is a little pricey for me. Does anyone know any way cheaper esides hiking there and back?

Try Ronnie McGaha, he may charge a little less. Here's his website:

If you are going NOBO, the cheapest thing I can think of is getting a Greyhound into Knoxville (Maryville if they have a station) and get a shuttle to Fontana.

If you are going SOBO, contact Standing Bear Hostel.
