Around the Lake Okeechobee area

Are there water sources around the lake or do you get water from the lake itself? I heard that's where powerplant runoffs end up so I'd like to be sure.

And north of the lake, about how far apart are the water sources?

You are going to be near civilization every day but you do drink lots of water for sure....even in winter. Be sure to have sunscreen and hat. There is zero shade on the dike.
