Haven't had a chance to watch it myself, but have several hiking friends who have seen it, and they raved about it.

cool... thanks... I guess I should just watch it and see for myself - but that said, never having been on the AT I have nothing to compare it to

I have a library of videos and consider that one to be the worst. Shows some seedy characters and no middle...jumps from the south to New England.

There are better out there. Appalachian Impressions will take you through the whole AT pretty much, but will never give you the feeling of actually getting out there and hiking it.

Absolutely agree. Too much time is spent on filler.

Checkout TREK and WALKING WITH FREEDOM. Both will make you jones for the trail. Although not a real thru or documentary, SOUTHBOUNDERS is a good story.

Yeah they are both pretty good. I wish that the audio would be redone for Walking with Freedom if at all possible. Sometimes it's hard to hear what folks are saying over the LOUD music. The music is very good though.

Thanks guys... my goal is to find something that will entice hubby to take more than a week or two at a time. I'd adore doing a more serious hike but he's stubborn. I'll check out the other videos. :D
