I doubt it...weighs to much for backpacking, okay for camp/car camping...

Cool - $25 for a car camp bag. Too heavy for me to carry backpacking, but good find!

Grab the comforter off the bed for a car camp bag. If she won't smack you.:)

My first sleeping bag was just under 5 lbs and worked for a number of years. If this is what you can afford (it's a great price), then go for it. Get out on the trail, and spend more for less weight as you can.

Gear doesn't make or break a hike, at least not often.

Thanks for the heads up. I have more sleeping bags than I can use right now, but I'm sure others will be interested.

That is a great deal for a car camping bag with that rating. It is a little heavy (in my opinion) for a backpacking bag.

Forget the weight. I wouldn't trust a $25 bag to keep me warm to 0 degrees

It probably doesn't have enough loft to keep you warm to that temp. Cheapo companies don't have any reputation to lose so they can claim just about anything in order to make a sale.
Don't bother. There's no substitute for education in any area of life, camping and hiking included.

I am with Tinker and Shoe on this one! But if that fits your budget and it keeps you on the trail so be it!

this bag has high quality loft and is usually cheap. the marlboro adventure gear bag they had several years ago.RED with yellow inside is the one it is kind of heavy but it is very warm and will work down to about 10 without any trouble. ebay is about the only place to get one I guess. I have tried it and use it in winter too warm if not freezing

I have a 15 degree bag from walmart, I use it for jeep camping. Does great keeping you warm. As for backpacking, yea, its heavy but the real bummer is the damn thing only packs down to the size of a really large watermelon (the ones fed on miracle grow).
