Jericho Road in Israel

Have any of you ever hiked the Jericho Road from Jeresulaem to Jericho?

My wife and I gave my son a trip to Israel for his graduation present several years ago. Today I was reading his journal and noted that he put "hiking the Jericho Road" as one of the things he wants to do before he dies. It reminded me that I also put that on my "bucket list."

I spent a while today, looking on the internet for a guided tour that would include actually hiking the Jericho Road rather than just observing it from a tour bus. So far, I have not found such a tour.

Have any of you ever made that hike? If so, did you do it with a guide? Can you give me a web site or email address for such a tour/hike?

My ex business partner George was the fist American to hike the Israeli trail in it's entirety i believe.
He did it with his Israeli girlfriend in '99.
I don't know a lot about it but I remember he said it was very dry and they had to rent a donkey to carry their water. (and the Bedoins taught them how to bake bread under the sand)
