I want to hike from Dicks Creek Gap to Amicalola Falls State Park the week of Saturday, September 11 thru Saturday, Sept 18. That is the week after Labor Day.

I plan to arrive at Amicolola Falls State Park at 1:00 PM on saturday. I will be driving in from Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday morning.

I need a shuttle from Amicalola Falls State Park to the The Berry Patch near Dicks Creek Gap, Saturday afternoon.

I plan to spend the night at The Berry Patch, then begin hiking the next morning.

How long it take to drive from Amicalola Falls State Park to the The Berry Patch ????

Does this sound like a good plan ??? How can I get shuttle service ????

I think you are refering to the Blueberry Patch on US76. However, my understanding was that they accepted long distance hikers only from Feb 15th to Apr 30th. There are several possibilities for commercial shuttles and the ATC keeps a list at http://www.appalachiantrail.org/hike/plan/cars.html . However, if what you want is an overnight stay along with a shuttle from Amicalola to Dicks Creek, then the hostel near Woody Gap is what I would look into. Their website is www.hikerhostel.com .
