Mmmmm....H-Berries!
You need to come up this way... 5 miles in... HUGE huckleberries that are rotting away on the bushes. If we weren't in a time crunch we woulda picked a lot more!
No kidding! I gotta start picking this week if you all want jam!

See, this is the sort of thing that makes me want to hike with Dicentra, not because I want to eat her food, but because I figure any bears in the area will leave my crappy food alone and totally destroy hers.

LOL. I wonder if that backfires if I feed you some of my food... I made Rooinater the dessert I had packed...
Great stuff Dicentra ! Man I am glad I just ate, those pics really caught my eye.
Huckleberries...I would leave my gear in the woods so I could fill my pack if I came across a good patch.

I must say... they slowed us down on several places this trip. They are out in full force right now. Nom nom nom!!!
Those crunch wraps are good. I have heard them called other names in the past. With apologies to Shakespeare... A crunch wrap by any other name still tastes yummy.

Ah, this thread inspires me to a new idea for bear protection in grizzly country:
Carry some of Dicentra's food in a holster. When the bear attacks, quickly hand the Dicentra food to Jester2000; he'll be too busy eating to run. :)
Can I hit you up for some dried huckleberries?
Good pics! I need to hike that trail.
