I'm going up to Jay next week and heading south for a few weeks. Here in CT it hasn't rained for a while and things are getting quite dry. Anyone know how the water sources are from Waterbury to the northern terminus. Hope all your summer hiking is going well. Mark S

You'll have plenty of water on the northern LT, with the exception of the last (or first if southbound) day - from Laura Woodward (excellent spring) to Journey's end is usually dry even in wet years like this. You may find water at Shooting Star or other places in between, but I always count on tanking up at either end. Otherwise, each shelter has good water sources , and you'll cross many small streams between most shelters.

Three weeks ago the small stream that crosses the trail about 1.5 miles south of Shooting Star was flowing. I'd banked on that and saved myself the off trail hike downhill from Shooting Star to refill while heading SOBO. Conditions were still very wet at that time, though.
