Does this seem stupid to anyone else? They are rededicating the park that is highly visited and a major recreation space for the country and to do this this are making it so people can't recreate during that time there? If anything they should hope that more people come through and can be a part of living history.

I'm not sure I would call it stupid, more like typical government BS. I'm guessing the few hikers who show up will be the only nonpayed people there so they can have a photo op.
