Headed to NH tomorrow and hoping to replace my worn out tyvek sheet. Any ideas?

We got a piece out of a dumpster where they were building houses. Or you might go by a construction site and ask if they have a piece they are going to throw away.

Thanks Blissful. Hoping some store might have a few loose ones for sale. Not much major construction in center city Philly these days.

You can go to HD or Lowe's, but you will need to buy a whole roll. Check out Ace Hardware. I have a sheet which I bought from a local outfitter who gets his from there. It is different from the kind at HD or Lowe's, but I think it is better as it is a little thicker.

Some hardware stores, and even occassionaly, the big box do-it-yourself warehouses like Lowes or Home Depot, wil cut a piece from a damaged roll or from a roll that they keep for customers who want just a small piece rather than buying a rather expensive full sized roll. One of the ideas behind using Tyvek as a ground sheet is that you can get it free as scrap from building sites if you ask. Construction workers usually don't have a probem slicing off a small piece for you if it;s available. If you must buy a roll of house wrap for a ground cloth you can get a similar performing product as Tyvek at less than 1/2 the price if you purchase Lowes brand house wrap.

An alternative: Something that is supposed to work well for a ground sheet is heat shrink plastic windows or patio door insulation like this: http://www.amazon.com/Patio-Door-Insulation-2503-ACE/dp/B000P24EG4/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1251935306&sr=8-9

This should be available at most hardware stores, home depot, lowes, up north.

Or, plastic painter drop cloth.
