How do you post to this site when you are hiking the trail? Do the hostels have internet access?

The Companion (www.aldha.org (http://www.aldha.org)) lists many Internet access points along the way. Mostly in local libraries and/or hostels.

If all you need to do is send/receive email, check out www.pocketmail.com (http://www.pocketmail.com). Many folks use this device along the trail to record their journals and keep in touch with folks at home. All you need is a phone to call the 800 number for updates. 1-2 sets of batteries will last the entire trip. 8oz.

I found the public libraries to be the most dependable. As soon as you get into a town check the phone book for the library telephone number and give them a call. Bigest problem is the hours of operation but otherwise the service is great. Generally high speed connections and decent equipment.

Trouble with hostels (even if they do have internet access) is that you're competing with other hikers for on-line time.
