Was wondering if someone can tell me where is the best place to get on the Trail near Harrisburg? Is there a spot near the Clarks Ferry bridge?
Thanks for any help.

The Clarks Ferry Bridge is part of the trail.

There are plenty of places in the Harrisburg area to pick up the trail. Given your location, that area might be one of the most convenient. There is a parking area on the east side of the bridge that a lot of commuter carpoolers use that you could park in if you are driving yourself down.

But really, where to pick up the trail in the area sort of depends on how far you plan to hike and which direction you plan to go. You might want to go to the ALDHA site and download the online companion section for WVa-Md.-Pa. (http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm)That will give you a lot of info to plan your hike, including distances between different landmarks and trailheads

hoop time hit it. you can either drive into duncannon (go left at ford dealership, across a smaller bridge, and take a right back into a parking lot at the base of the mountain) or you can park across the susquehanna (kind of underneath 322) and head up the mountain on that side! shelters on both sides are pretty excellent
