I have been on the Florida Trail website and I am not having much luck finding the best information. I will be in Sebring Fla for a week starting today with nothing to do during the days! I was wondering if the Florida Trail comes anywhere near Sebring? I am unfamiliar with the area but I will have a car and access to mapquest and the likes. I am planning on going to Hammocks State Park one day to spend some time on the boardwalks but was wondering what else was pretty close by? Thanks!

If you go south from Sebring and get onto US 98 headed east (road actually travels southeast) there are places where the Florida Trail can be accessed as it runs along US 98 past Lorida but before Cornwell. And yes, Sandy Friend is the 'expert' for advice.

Here's info. on a nice hike on the Florida Trail with directions from Sebring:
Go to http://www.floridatrail.org/Hiking/Grab-and-Go/hickoryhammock.html and then click on "Grab and Go: Hickory Hammock" at the bottom. Good directions and other info.
