will be hiking the Shenendoah in early October for a week or so, hopefully longer.
Any thoughts on average high/low temps? Rainfall?

The maps look as if it will be mainly a flat walk --- that would be unusual. Have done all GA, most of NC and TN -- definitely not flat there

thanks

Bobby

Bobby, you sound a lot like me. Have done all of GA, NC, and TN, plus did the SNP two summers ago.

It is not entirely flat, no, and actually has some good climbs SOBO (like up to Mary's Rock). I was there in the summer and it was MUCH less hot than here in Nashville. I think it was close to 100 here and in the 80s there, if that tells you anything helpful.

Have a great hike!

It's a good graded trail, some uphills but nothing like farther south. You'll be able to cruise it.

Temps can vary quite a bit. Just check the weather as you get closer.
