Anyone familiar with Polly's Pancakes in Sugar Hill, NH?

http://www.pollyspancakeparlor.com/location.html

It gets phenomenal press, but I have never spoken with anyone who has eaten there. For us it would be a detour out of North Woodstock.

Yea.

I just read the part on their web site about inviting you to come up an hour ahead of time to put your name on the waiting list.

I hadn't thought about competing for a table with hoards of leaf peepers, before your question.

what's the big deal about pancakes? if you ate one you've eaten them all

Polly's is definitely worth the trip and the possible wait. They are only open for breakfast and lunch until about 3:00pm, but if you go on a weekday the wait may not be too bad. The location has a great view of Franconia Ridge, Cannon Mtn, Garfield, the Twins, and the Presidentials.

It is "European" seating, so you may end up at a table with other people you don't know. The food is great. They have a variety of batters and mix-ins and you can try different combinations in their sampler. Cornmeal with coconut is my favorite, but oatmeal buttermilk with walnuts is also great. The apple smoked bacon is tops. One of my friends who is a vegetarian will only eat meat once a year when we go to Polly's.

Also, Harmon's Cheese House is a few minutes down the road and is worth a trip if you like cheedar.

I ate there a long time ago. It was good then, off season so no wait. I might drive an hour out of my way to eat there.

I love Polly's. Their ginger bread pancakes are my favorite but if they're not available I'll order cornmeal pancakes. They also have amazing maple smoked bacon.

I live nearby so I'll usually try to get in at opening to avoid the crowds. You can call up to an hour ahead to put your name on the waiting list. I've done this on busy days and it definitely shortens the wait.

Must have crack in them if you are willing to wait an hour.
