After all is said and done, I will have a tremendous amount of money and time tied up in gear requisition.
Have any of you purchased travel insurance that covers gear theft, adventure sport specific personal injury coverage that supplements normal life insurance, rescue related costs? How about for international travel?
I have always chained my kayak, but it would be nice to walk into town and not worry about my boat and/or gear. My kayak alone has a replacement cost of $4000. If some low-renter stole it, my trip would be over. Same thing holds for my pack. I want my gear cataloged and replaced if it is stolen. I know the AT is probably safe, but I'm thinking protection in Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok as well.
