What is this? I found this around Falls Lake, NC while working on the MST.

I did not see it up to D. Not all have pics.

I did see some pictures of laurel with red berries like that, but not the husk.

I read some of the info on Strawberry Bush/Hearts-a-Bustin berries, they will make you sit on the privy very quickly and for a long time.

The dreaded dingleberry has more of a nutty flavor, while the strawberry bush has a sweet/sour tang.

Saw one at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, Va. Was trying to figure out what it was also! Good timing on starting the thread!
