Okay, I thought I saw a thread about this but I was unable to find it on WB. Any who, I got this chair in the mail today and I got to admit it is pretty cool. REI sells it and it’s 18oz.

I’m going to take it on a couple of trips in October and do a field test of it. But I got to admit, I like it so far. Here’s the web site for the company that makes them:

Anybody else tried this chair and what do you think of it?

It looks good.

But I'm looking at this one too: https://www.kifaru.net/fieldchair.html

I can't make up my mind.

I saw it in the REI catalog, but when I called the store they informed me that they don't carry it. Bastards.

I'd be curious to hear your experiences with yours.

Found this review of it:

As for me it works pretty good. Here's my breakdown of the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
weigth is 18oz (to some that might be a con)
You're off the ground
Has back support

Cons:
The top of the back needs to be wider as it does pinch a bit there
Using it on soft ground can be tricky, look for a big flat rock if possible

They were at the sports authority here in Lehigh Valley. I tried one out last week and compared it to the standard one with the beerholder arms.. I kinda liked it, except it is like a comfy sofa and when you sink back, it is kinda tough to get out of. Got work your abs if you are going get this chair.

I believe the crazy creek chair would be a better choice. I have been using it for many years and a plus is you can use a short mat and then use the chair open for extra protection. The crazy creek can be put inside your pack or on the outside. This is the one piece of gear i never leave home with out.
