Woo Hoo, heading out today for a short section, Mooney Gap to the NOC. I've been waiting on this trip for a month now. Can't wait to get my boots dirty.

Now's the best time to be out in my fetid opinion. October! There's nothing better than hiking in cool temps thru the swirling wind-whipped leaves.

I'm back. Great trip. Rain on Friday afternoon but not too bad. Stopped about a mile before camp at Rock Gap Shelter. Saturday was perhaps one of the best weather days I've had on a trip. 60s and blue skies.
Stayed at Wayah Shelter Saturday night. Hiker named, The Artful Dodger, was there. Said he fell and broke his shoulder. He refused any help and said someone was hiking up Sunday to get him. Anyone hear anything else about him let me know. We were very reluctant not to be able to do anything for him but he sounded like a trooper.
