I just finished reading it last night and I have enjoyed this book more than any other I have read on the trail so far. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes reading about the trail.

Does anyone have a word on when the Northbound version of the book is being released?

September 2007 is when "Walking Home" (northbound) was published.

I really liked it too and look forward to the Nobo one's release-i've been watching for it!Anyone would love this book. Am i getting old -the only complaint i have is do we have to use the Fbomb? A road more or less traveled by Otis and Roberts is another wonderful madcap southbound adventure.

Actually, I think more people can relate to a book about someone who was unable to finish the trail.

Both books are excellent, saw them on Amazon and got the set. Probably the best I've read about the trail.

Picked up "Southbound" at the ATC Headquarters store last month and am reading it now. Very good read so far! They didn't have "Walking Home" in stock otherwise I'd have bought it too. If it's anything like the first I'm sure it's very well written. You gotta get it! If not, it's like only watching half a movie!

I'm confused. Amazone lists four books by the Barefoot Sisters. There are the NOBO and SOBO books, listed as Book 1 and Book 2. Then there are the books with different covers, not listed as Book 1 and Book 2. The NOBO book has not been released yet, but is available for pre-order. Have they been revised? Is it just a packaging change?

The earlier releases were print on demand (POD) published through lulu.com. The later editions are published by Stackpole Books, an actual publishing house.

Wow, thanks everyone! I ordered the Southbound version froom the ATC and they didn't even list (It was hard to find anything in their online store, I may have missed it!) the northbound book. I just placed an order for it from Amazon. I had ASSumed it wasn't in print yet. The first printing of Northbound is avaialble on Amazon and the second printing will be available towards the end of this month.

Yeah, I don't live that far from there. Maybe a little over an hour. I had a chance to meet them there at their book signing. I didn't becuase I had not read the book yet. Now I'm kicking myself for not going.
