The Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail will be hosting 2 workday outings on Oct 24th, 2009. If you would like to attend, please RSVP the crew leader of each project location.

Blue Ridge Mountains section - Crews will meet at 830am at the Deep Gap, NC post office and Mini-Warehouse located on the old US421 road located outside of Boone. The work site will be close to the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Deep Gap/US421 (near the access roads to Boone), so no long walk-ins. Be prepared for cold weather and getting dirty, so dress warm and reasonably for trail work. Please bring food, water, and gloves. Tools will be provided. http://www.ncmst.org/brpcandrc.html
Falls Lake section - Crews will meet at 900am along Red Mill Road (off of I85) outside of Durham, NC. Signs starting from the exit will direct trail crews to the exact meeting place on Red Mill Road. Be prepared for possible cold and damp weather. The area is also weedy & swampy with lots of biting & stinging bugs and poison oak & ivy. Be sure to bring bug spray, long clothing, gloves, food, and water. Tools will be provided. http://www.ncmst.org/fallsworkday.html
