Can barely wait:banana:banana:banana:banana:banana. Back on the trail in a week for the first time in 15 years. Hope to meet and see many of y'all out there over the next 12 months.

Anxious to hear about it. Am planning a thruhike starting in April of 2010 from Harpers Ferry south to Springer then leaping up to Katahdin and travelling south to
Harpers Ferry. am a chicken about black flies and really cold weather. Have fun!

Greylock>Springer>Big K. So I guess you could say all sections. Throw in the BMT, Tuscarora and LT as side hikes.

That's wonderful. It would be interesting to hear about your trip given the interesting time of year and itinerary. Maybe I'll be out there - you can recognize my by my hat.
I was given my "walking papers" yesterday and it should be with 6 months severance. It would be nice to be paid and fully insured for the first 3 months of the hike! People have already been asking for my resume to give to their friends so it looks like I will have to do some sort of job search not to offend. If nothing great arises by Jan - Feb it'll be on..... I have probably jinxed my chances of the trail by announcing my intentions in public.
