I am starting to put together plans for the 3rd annual Hikers Christmas & South Bounder Party in Franklin,NC on the 2nd weekend in December so it won't be involved with family get togethers.I have reserved the Franklin Memorial Park & Jaycee's Bldg for the event.
We will be Catering BBQ lunch and Dinner on Saturday December 12th.We will be having lots of people coming in from out of town to Franklin on the Friday night before and leaving Sunday.
There will be no alchohol allowed on the property of the Memorial Park grounds because it is city property but at the motels it is ok.I will be announcing within a few days which motel we will be gathering in the afternoon and nights at but has been both years in the past at Budget Inn.
If you would like to attend you can make reservations with HIKER rates at one of my motels and if you pass thru or stay other places you are still invited to come to it.We are planning a fun hiker weekend and sure hope to see you.

Gee Ron, Your parties sound so great and I always seem to miss them due to work. I came down for the April Fools party and everyone had gone to sleep. Have fun at Christmas and toss a few for me, the working fool.

There has been a nice Preforming Arts Theate been put in Franklin.There may be a chance of getting some good tickets to see the preformers for that Sat night.

Ron knows how to throw a party!The guys in this band played the music for the first Appalachian Trail Song ever recorded.It was "Walk With Me" by Les Waldroop around 1956 and past away in the late 1990's.These guys are his nephews,Steve,Wade,and Terry Waldroop.

I'm driving a long way and hope to see many of you there. Get busy and make your reservations. I haven't been to one of these before, but I know Ron will make it a great time.

I had a great time at the Hiker Christmas Party yesterday. I got to meet Ron, Skidsteer, kanga, Hooch, Bulldawg, ChinMusic, Leki, peanuts, SGT Rock, Mason, CoolBreeze and many others that I can’t recall their names.
Thanks again Ron for hosting these events and for the excellent service you provide to the hiker community. Looking forward to the next one.:D

Y'know, I had every intention of being there. Then my daughter and her husband came for Thanksgiving. That sort of took over my brain. Then the appraisal of my home occurred on December 1. That definitely took over my brain. Then the night of December 1, all of the pipes of my hot water/oil heating system broke. Oh, yeah, the computer's hard drive died the night before Thanksgiving. Today was the first day since then that I have not been watching plumbers and such tromping through my house. There has been no brain left to even think, especially since yesterday the tree that fell during the recent storm (Hope no one was up in Grayson Highlands for that one.) had to be cut down yesterday afternoon. Did someone mention CONFUSION? So, this evening (the first evening to have a 'puter working again) I see Ron's Christmas party. It's already over. Geez. It doubtlessly was fun for all.--Kinnickinic

The Short Bus Bowling League was in full force last night and a good time was had by all. Ron Haven, in his usual style, was a gracious host well beyond anyone's expectations. Ron, thanks again for putting this together once again this year. Dancer and I had a great time! IT was nice to see old friends and make new ones. See y'all at SoRuck and/or the April Fool's Bash. :D
