Looking towards spring already....getting a (small) group together for a spring trip and trying to pick a couple of potential weeks. When do things usually start to "green-up" at the upper elevations around Damascus? Cold is OK...but don't want to go when it still looks like winter.

Well Lone Wolf can answer this better than anyone, but I've been snowed on just North of Damascus as late as the 23rd of May.
In all likelihood, you'll be fine, but don't forget to dress warm and prepare for quick changes in the weather.

Sorry, guess I wasn't too clear in what I tried to ask. More concerned about when the trees start to leaf out...that's the question I was trying to ask...looking for some green to end the winter depression....(and gee, the leaves are just now falling!)
