I have sewn 2 windows in my tent and I am tickled pink with them. There is plenty of tough clear vinyl used as packaging if you look around. I found some great stuff at Academy Sporting Goods used to wrap life preservers. (You can order it too from Shelter-systems in California). Anyway, the trick is to make a seam at the top of the window with the vinyl inside the tent and a seam on the bottom with the vinyl outside the tent to encourage water to run off and not collect at the seams. Even a small window is pretty nifty. I want to hang plastic stained glass windows in mine.

Dont use flimsy vinyl. You should not be able to stretch it with your finger.
