I pretty much understand the differeces between the MSR international. and simerlite. But I still want to ask if the simmerlite will run on paint thinner.
pros: easily available, in quarts. well filtered (less soot than diesel???)
cons: lower flash point than white qas might not burn right
sounds like a quart of thinner is still too much to pack around.

spoken from somebody who played around with paint thinner a little too much as a pyro-child, i think paint thinner leaves a little bit of residue and it's gasses burned are more carcinogenic than white gas. still healthier than diesel

i also think it would burn too quickly.

I don't know about paint thinner, but I can tell you from first hand experience that a simmerlite doesn't burn alcohol very well.

you can find coleman fuel pretty easily and cheaply. why thinner?
