There's a parking area map as well as the AT centerline. Install Google Earth, download the zipfiles to your computer, then extract and open the .kml files.

I'd post the .kml files and make it easier but we are working out getting the forum set up to do that. The .kml extension is turned off and the .kmz file size is a bit too small at the moment.

I found this website extremely helpful for locating parking spots near trailheads near where I live in NY. It seems that there are detailed descriptions for all the sections in all of the states (availability of parking, size of the lot, directions on how to get there, and how to get to the trail from the parking spot, etc.)

Here's THE AT Google Map, trail trace, mileages, elevations, parking and shelters.

The data originates from the ATC, but the trail trace detail far exceeds that of the ATC map or any Google AT map on the web. Being a Google map, it only requires your web browser. No downloading Google earth, kml's or any of that.
