While researching stoves on the net I found this site http://www.bushwalking.org.au/ (http://www.bushwalking.org.au/) that deals with hiking in Australia.

Found some interesting articles on the site such as this link on stoves http://www.bushwalking.org.au/FAQ/FAQ_Stoves.htm (http://www.bushwalking.org.au/FAQ/FAQ_Stoves.htm) and http://www.bushwalking.org.au/FAQ/FAQ_Efficiency.htm (http://www.bushwalking.org.au/FAQ/FAQ_Efficiency.htm) along with some great pictures of what can go wrong when a stove goes bad.

I think Roger Caffin maintains that site. He's very knowledgeable and often posts (and writes articles) on http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/index.html
There's treks in Tasmania that look really interesting.
