The God who made Mother Nature.
Benton MacKaye, who dreamed up the idea for the AT.
Myron Avery who took MacKaye's idea and put it on the ground.
The various volunteer groups who keep the Trail in passable condition.
The folks who I've met to, from, and on the Trail who've made my hiking more enjoyable than just a so-called "Walk in the Woods".
All the folks who are afraid of spending a night in the woods - Less crowding for those of us who aren't :D.

I agree, thanks troops both active and inactive, retired whatever. Thanks for defending our freedom
