i've never had any problems with any kind of MSR gear and i own a bunch of different things (stoves, filters, pots, etc, etc..) but i only bought those things becuase i knew that they were good. if the quality of the poles is as good as the quality of their other equipment i would say you shoulnd't have any problems...
on the other hand i know black diamond makes some mean trekking poles and i have a pair of cork ergo's and i love those things...

MSR makes some good gear... they do not make the poles...
Leki's are still the strongest..
