I am looking for a lightweight windshell/windjacket in the XXL to XXXL range. I am looking for something similar to the Golite Wisp at 3-6oz or so. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can you sew? You might end up buying the fabric (try www.thru-hiker.com for fabric and patterns) and making your own. The high-end stuff usually tops out at XL, and few companies offer tall sizes.

I dunno. I watched my lovely wife make a bivy sack using some very slippery, very light materials (Momentum .90 and sil nylon.) She just zipped them right up with her sewing machine. When I tried it, it was a total disaster. I can kinda, sorta, make the sewing machine work when using normal fabrics, but those really light ones are tough. I think she used some sort of magic super power.

Seriously, you can probably learn how, but plan to spend some time on it.

You might try a specialty custom shop. Bring $$.

The one I looked at was near Seattle, pretty reasonable, in a high end sense, if one is odd shaped.

Cannot recall the name. I googled and got a different shop. Shutterbug or Sarbar would know it.

I know Feathered Friends for their down sleeping bags, but all of their products are made in their Seattle, WA factory.

But I don't see straight wind shirts. For amusement and after lottery winning, check out the measurement section.

only two xx's: http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/ARC0668/Arcteryx-Squamish-Windshell-Jacket-Mens.html?avad=11193&COUP=4DB-1-MTH4J

If you stumble onto any with tall sizing, you could post up. I have sleeve/pit issues. Handy for grabbing stuff out of the top of the closet, but off the shelf sale stuff-bah.

Good luck in your search.
