At the request of SGT Rock, the postholer site now has a fully interactive google map of the BMT with mileages and elevations:

http://postholer.com/gmap/gmap.php?trail_id=14

Of course you'll find different map types, MyTopo, Satellite, etc.

To get specific distances click anywhere on the blue line twice, the second click will show you the distance between the two clicks and other handy info.

Thank SGT Rock when you see him!

Thanks man. You're the champ. I love those maps. I already posted a link on my site and embedded the map in a page.

If anyone is interested: www.bmtguide.com/section.html

It's only a concept I am working on. I'll flesh it out as I go.

I updated the link Rock for my BMT planning blurb...

Cool, thanks Mags.

Now I'm thinking that before I send it to the printer I should change the name from "Benton MacKaye Thru-Hikers Guidebook" to "Benton MacKaye Long Distance Hikers Guide". I only know a few people that ever thru-hiked it, and a few more than that have hiked it all in long sections.

Maybe I'm over thinking it.

The second option is probably more descriptive for most people, but I wouldn't sweat it.

Think of how many section hikers picked up the "Thru-hikers Handbook" for the AT back in the day... and it all worked out. :)

You are probably right.
