I suggest that White Blaze add Winter Camping & Hiking as a forum topic. Heck, most of the AT is now blanketed with snow on Jan. 3rd, along with many other long trails in the U.S..
Some people must winter camp, backcountry ski and/or snow shoe from Virginia northward. A Winter forum topic would bring us together to exchange info. :banana

I spent the weekend Camping & Backcountry skiing out on the October Mt. Section of the MA -AT wicked windy and about 4-6" of fresh snow. No Bugs it was great.

Not sure a new forum is needed since it would only have activity 6 months out of the year.
...unless people wanted to spend time planning for winter and getting their equipment sorted out to try it.

might as well add it. I would think more people would post in a forum about winter hiking than the forum for speed hiking/trail running :p

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the need for a "Jester is Awesome" Forum.
might as well add it. I would think more people would post in a forum about winter hiking than the forum for speed hiking/trail running :p
Considering how many posts there are already, I'm gonna say..probably not.

I like it. Good point. A little broader focus than just my awesomeness would open it up to people that want to talk about other aspects of me.

I'm pretty sure it was about me. Either that or cheese. All of the threads that aren't in the straight forward forum are mostly about one or the other.

Yeah, now that I think of it, since most of the threads are about me anyway we probably don't even need a Jester forum.

WEll, them other backpackin' sites have winter forums & we use 'em most of the year.
Just a thought for a site that has more forums than I've ever seen. Seemed a glaring oversight to me. :)

Once we can get some thought into every forum,
