So my plans for hiking the trail are to go after I graduate high school(Im a junior now). This means I cant start until late May/early June(No, I cant get out of school early). For obvious time reasons, and funding reasons, I can only do a section hike(NOBO). Probably around 2.5-3 months.

My question is where would be a good place to start the hike? Id like to be at about the area where all the people who started from Springer are, since Im looking forward to meeting new people on the Trail. Also, since Im starting in late May/early June, can I assume that I wont be seeing much cold weather?
Thanx in advance.

start in Damascus for sure. you'll be right in the middle of the crowd

Go southbound. You could knock out at least half, if not most of the Trail in 2.5-3 months.

Lone Wolf's right. Damascus would be a great place based on your schedule.

So Damascus is the main suggestion. What about the weather? Does this mean I wont be seeing much cold weather?

If you start in May the low temps will be the mid 40's.
If you start in June the low temps will be in the low 50's.

VA in late May - should be safe with warm and nicely humid weather.

If they hold Trail Days at the same time next year that theyre planning this year, Itll be two weeks too early for me to attend. Ill be arriving just late for the party. :(

Good to know about the weather though.
