I recently watched Trek: A Journey on the Appalachian Trail

It was ok, but I would have preferred to watch something that leaned more towards the technical details of the journey.

Does anyone have any recommendations of documentaries they've watched that somewhat accurately portrayed their experience of the trail?

What do you mean by technical details? Appalachian Impressions does the best job showing you the AT and what you will see but not so much about hiking the AT. In terms of hiking the AT, I like Five Million steps which is one of the oldest ones. I also own Trek, 2000 Miles to Maine, Walking with Freedom, and National Geographic's Appalachian Trail.

Try the Ultimate Trail Store at www.appalachiantrail.org which carries most of the films mentioned previously.

I've always thought I'd like to get a tatoo, but "of what" has kept me from it, as I think it should reflect something meaningful to you and not just some scroll work.

When that guy showed his tatoo and explained the idea behind it, a Dreamcatcher with a feather for every AT state hiked, I thought "What a great idea for a tatoo"! I hope he doesn't mind if I copy it for myself to commemorate my 2012 hike.

2000 Miles to Maine that was a good one i'm also friends with the guy who has the closeup of the AT tatto
