I am trying to put together a database of outfitters stores in the east. The BIG BOYS like REi are easy to find. Do any of you know where a list of smaller, local stores might be found on the net? I am betting that between you all on Whiteblaze that there isn't a store anywhere you haven't found!

In MA, around my area, we have EMS, REI(of course), Natick outdoor store and others...If you'd like to know ALL the stores on the East Coast, you could always use a Dun and Bradstreet regional business report....it will give you names, addresses, phone #'s and basic products carried etc. I use these reports to analyze the market in New England for my folks hospitality business, but you could easily modify one for your specific needs...."one off" reports are fairly inexpensive for the minimal crit you need (names/locations?). They're reps for fairly upscale furniture, lighting and case good lines that supply existing and planned hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos and their designers etc....like The Fairmont Hotel in Banff, Canada, Park Plaza here in Boston, Mohican Sun casino, The Capital Grille and many others....:)
