allright: who found the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy quote?
(if you don't know what hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy is, or which one is the quote, the you are a sad, sorry, subhuman lifeform.)

Maybe. When's the trans Canada open? then I can come to the North Americas and thruhike to Russia. ! :)

Not a good outlook for me, I dream of the C&O towpath From DC to Harpers Ferry then South to Rock Fish Gap. 'Bout all the time I can justify in my present situation.

Was section hiking. Got taken off the trail by a serious auto accident. I'll be back if I have to crawl down the trail.

The very fact that we're cruising around here is a good indication that a long hike will be happening soon!

Yeah. But not the AT. Maybe the River-to-River or the Ozark Highland Trail or Grand Gulch. Too many trails, so little time.

It has been several years since I've spent much time walking a trail. Travel is my passion and I love to walk in the mountains and woods, so LDH feels natural. I've never gotten tired of it, never retired. Their are many adventures in life however and sometimes you have to choose. I can't imagine not spending time on the trail again....someday. Living here and staying connected to the trail in other ways sure make not walking a bit easier to deal with................for now.:)

I've been dreaming about the AT since I was 16 or 17. I'm 43 now - thems a lot of years!

Am giving very serious though to going for in in '07!

Wife thinks it's silly.

Mother says "I just wish you'd get that d@^& hike over with and out of your system" - I think mom's tired of hearing me talk about it!

I just started early stages of planning.........2007!

Good for you EJ! Get out there and shoot the moon!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I stepped foot on the AT back in 2000. No idea at all. LDH is as much of an addiction for me as anything I've ever encountered. Although I may be graduating from spending a few months a year hiking in the wood to living in the woods and spending a few months or less in the city every year. Happy hiking folks, be well!

Boy does this sound like me - except I was fourteen, my hubby thought it was crazy at first and now is all for it, and yes, my family wants it out of my system.
AT 2007 - here I come! :clap
